September Fun!!! a Month in Pictures

For the last few weeks I have not been able to upload pictures to my blog.  I copied and pasted a little big, but I really don't like the quality of the image when I do it that way..  If that has happened to you-This is how I solved the problem. First, I clicked the settings Nut on the type right hand corner from the blogger dashboard. Then, I trouble shooted and found out it may have had to do with my pop-up blocker. I went to my "Tools" tab and clicked Content. Then clicked the exemptions button--and typed in the blogger site.  So Voila!!! I can now upload everything we have been doing over the last 22 days of school.

The first week of school we learned eachother's names and made a Letters in My Name Graph.

We read  Elmer and Made 25 E's to send out for our alphabet exchange.

The longest-short week ever!!!

Today was the 13th day of school! Happy almost Friday!!! My class know the rules, the routines, Daily 5 and I was even able to run a couple of real rounds of Daily 5!  But boy am I pooped!

I always feel bad when I don't have time to blog--but frankly, I just can't seem to stay awake!
After school it's homework with my kids, making dinner, a load of laundry and if I'm lucky--I get to vacuum! (well I guess that would not make me lucky but ---maybe the kids will do it?, Nah...)
Don't even get me started on early morning before school meetings!!! I am meeting'd out!

We learned about NOUNS. First we brainstormed on this chart together as a class. Later, we went on a Noun Walk around the school and on the playground. The students recorded the nouns they saw onto a Tree map, organized as Person, Place and Thing.

I have been using an alligator to teacher greater than or less than since I student taught back in 1997--yes, that's right 1997~  I made a little "Allie the Alligator" for each student.  I told the class to put him in the center and draw a "pond" around him.  The circle or pond, would be where Allie would stay. Most math workbooks, tests, etc, always have a circle for the symbols--so by calling it a "pond" it makes sense.  I have a large Allie that I stick on the board.  They use their dry erase boards and write the numbers as I write them on the board. They then had to turn Allie and trace his mouth to make the symbol.  Easy==Effective and FREE!!

 Of course we've done loads in 13 days--I just haven't been able to take pictures--That is my goal tomorrow!  Take more pictures!!!!

Pencil Sharpener Giveaway!!

September Currently!

It's been a while since I did one of these!

My son is playing his Wii and all I can hear is the Music that goes with his game!
I just said to my Husband that all weekends should be 3 days--It's so nice to have an extra day to do all of my Laundry.
That being said, I didn't do  my usual Sunday food shopping--so now I need to do it today!! I will need a little extra pick me up--I think a Starbuck Caramel Frappacino aught to do it!
Time flies when you are relaxing--should be the new saying!  It's been so nice to just veg-out after the 1st 2 hectic weeks of school. Soon soccer season will start for my son and acrobatics for my daughter-- so I will be on the go Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Nights from then until Thanksgiving!!  Don't forget to link up with Farley at Oh Boy 4th Grade for your September Currently.
