S'more fun!!

This is happening tomorrow! I have 3 days left of school! Hope it's sunny!
S'mores Fun

My local supermarket (Publix) had a coupon for all 3 items plus bogos!! Our 5th Grade teachers do this every year, so I thought I'd join in on the fun. We are doing Cara Carroll's @ The First Grade Parade's Camping Capers for our fun EOY unit. S'mores is one of the components in the unit. We will write a How-To and do a Senses activity.
My teammates and I weren't quite sure how to make s'mores with the whole, class. So I had to test it out.

I lined a pizza box with tin foil, then glued black construction paper to the top. I set it outside at around 12:30 p.m.
My daughter and I each made a s'more. You have to test it out before you do it in class right?
This is what it looked like after an hour.
Delish!

CTP 50th Anniversary Giveaway

Creative Teaching Press is celebrating their 50th Anniverary! I am thrilled to be a part of this giveaway and to share with you some new and tried and true products from this great company.

If you have read my blog before you know that I'm probably the #1 fan of Dots on Turquoise from Creative Teaching Press
I have had this collection decorating my classroom for the last 3 years. You can see images of my classroom from this year here at Take a Peek Inside My Classroom  and here at How Do You Calendar?
As I am finishing up the 2014-2015 school year, the teacher/planner in me can't help but look ahead to the next school year and see how I can update my classroom look for the new crop of first graders to come.
Here are few must haves from the Dots on Turquoise Collection. I use a combination of all the borders to make it more interesting with out being too distracting for the students.
Dots on Turquoise Border Collection: #1038 Dots on Turquoise Border and #1040 Stripes and Stitches Border or try out the Dots on Turquoise Perfect Pair #6585 with the Stripes and Stitches and Paisley paired up.

I use the Dots on Turquoise Pennant Border #7144 on the top of  my Word Wall bulletin board.

Dots on Turquoise 6" Designer Cut-outs
These beauties have adorned my word wall for some time. They are the perfect size to display the letters of the alphabet.

The Posters below can be used in a variety of ways. Of course you can display the Dots on Turquoise Welcome Poster outside your door, and the Dots on Turquoise Paisley Poster  can be laminated to make re-usable as I used it on my calendar wall.

Now, to Spruce up my look with Chevron and Painted Palette for the 2015-2016 School year. Here are a just a few (wink, wink) of the items I'm looking at to color coordinate with my Dots on Turquoise classroom.

I'm sort of in love with these layered borders. These are just a few of the color combinations you can go with. I love the pop of poppy in the new Herringbone border! And ombre is not just a hairstyle anymore. The scalloped Ombre borders are just gorgeous!

I love having crisp clean lettering on my bulletin boards that both students and parents can easily read. The Painted palette letters are 4" in height and will really pop on my turquoise blue background. I love doing patterns, so I'm looking at both the green and orange letters to do patterns in letters and words.

These letters also come in Turquoise, if you prefer to stay with the turquoise theme.
I can never have too many labels at the beginning of the year. The labels below are great for notebooks, folders, report card or progress report envelopes. You can color code by subject, reading group or table teams. Again, these labels come in more than just Orange and Lime Green. So if you are looking to spruce up a collection of your own, make sure to check out the other colors available.

These Library pockets are so versatile. I currently have the Dots on Turquoise Library pockets for my jobs board and to hold my students PBIS rewards cards. But since, I'm sprucing up for next year, I'm thinking of changing out the old and replacing with these bright and bold colors.

Chevron Solids Name Plates the name plates are great for desks or cubbies.
These borders are bright and fun and will make a great accent to the borders I currently have. They can be layered or stand alone.
