Let's face it. There are tons of books out there for this time of year. This is one of my favorite. Sadie and the Snowman. I first learned of this book when I was teaching in New York City back in 1998. I went to a training and they used this to demonstrate the science concept of heat and melting. I love this story because of that and that is a great tool for teaching expository writing. How to Build a Snowman. You can use this Snowman Glyph Freebie as and extension of this book |
Ok, so who hasn't heard of the gingerbread man? It's classic and timeless and there are so many cute things you can do with this book. Decorating a gingerbread cookie is my favorite. :0) You can use this Cookie Graphing Freebie along with this book. |
Mooseltoe. Like most of us, moose gets busy with all that happens during the holiday season. Moose forgets to pick up a Christmas tree, so his kids make one out of his Moosestache! Cute and adorable and a nice reminder to slow down! |
How Santa Got His Job. This book is quite adorable. It goes through all the jobs Santa needed to do before he became The Santa! Download a Free "Application for Santa Claus" |
How Santa Lost His Job. This book is the sequel to the previous. One of the elves thinks Santa moves too slow and invents a machine to do his Job. In the end, the elves realize nothing can replace Santa Claus. A cute book that your students will love. |
