 Now onto my new project at school!  My School Leaders and Workers Book. I created this because we need to integrate our Writing with Science and social studies this year.  We do have a science book, but not a very long time to teach it. We do not have a Social Studies Book.  Therefore, we usually make everything we teach according to the scope and sequence.  Here are few pics of what we have done in class.  Tomorrow, all the kids will have to do is finish up their illustrating and staple!

We brainstormed together as a class.

I broke the circle into 3 parts, based on verb, to help organize our thoughts.

My favorite--Teachers are superheroes!

1. Circle map 2. Tree Map 3. Sentences

I love how they each decorated the schoolhouse in their own way.  Really shows off their personality!

Birthday Sale! and a Giveaway Reminder

Yup! It's my birthday on Monday, so I'm in the birthday spirit and having a sale at my TpT store today and tomorrow.  No, I will  not tell you how old I am.  My class keeps asking me, and I just keep asking them back: "How old do you think I am?"  My 8 year old is planning something, but I'm not quite sure what.  I'm sure whatever she has concocted I will love it.

Birthday Sale Tomorrow

Really Good Stuff Giveaway

Wow, I finished 10th day of school already!  I can't believe how it's flying by...

I have a great way for everyone to start off the first 10 days of school.

Over the summer I had written a post on Rockin'-Resources for my classroom.

Most of the items I wrote about were from my favorite place for teaching items 

Really Good Stuff. 

I shared it with Really Good Stuff, and they in turn shared 1 of their products with me.

                                 

I am hosting the giveaway of the  The Modular Pocket Chart from Really Good Stuff. When they first asked me to do this, I could not believe it.  Brandi Jordan who runs the Really Good Stuff Teacher blog was super nice. She gave me a few choices of items to try out and then giveaway.  I chose this item because I felt it best suits my students age level, my classroom and my style of teaching. 

Here is how it looks in my classroom right now.

I am using it to display my Story of the Week and Skill on the blue and red sections.  I am using the green and yellow for my sight (high frequency) and spelling words (phonics skill of the week)

Because its Modular it's easy to move around the pieces as needed.  I wanted to show the information on one side of the board and use the other side for my document camera.  I was able to easily move the green and yellow pieces over to do this.

Each pocket holds a standard length sentence strip.
