I am not going to take any credit for this craft. Both of my children were lucky to have the most amazing teacher when they were in kindergarten. Thank you Dawn Miller for the great inspiration. For Christmas, both my children made this adorable angel clip magnet with her. They are still on my refrigerator and they are now in 4th and 2nd grade.
When she left kindergarten to move up to 3rd grade, I decided that I can now make this craft with my 1st graders. Here is what you will need.
-Gold wrapping paper. (I found mine at my local dollar store) You will cut into circles using a crafty scissor with a scalloped edge.
-8 inch white doilies
-Clothes pins
-Gold pipe cleaners ( I cut each regular size pipe-cleaner in half and then bent into a halo shape.)
-a Picture of each child ( I took a picture of 3 students at a time, that way when I had them developed I only needed to print a few pictures)
I recommend prepping it all before you begin. Once the hot glue gets going, you won't want to stop to cut, bend or snip. |
Here is 1 of each item for each student. See how the gold paper for the wings is lifting. I put a dot of glue inside to keep it flat. |
First apply glue to the clothes pin and then attach the halo. |
Next, glue the doily to the wings and the picture to the top of the doilie. (the doilie is folded twice to make a pie shape) |
Here is what it looks like from the back. |
Voila, your very own angel!
We wrapped them up in tissue paper and I sent them home today.
What a pretty little angel! Have a Merry Christmas!
